Call for Papers 2011

The LinuxDay in Vorarlberg is the largest event about Free Software in the border region between Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Austria. It's performed by the Linux user group Vorarlberg in cooperation with the HTL Dornbirn.
The following opportunities to present at LinuxDay:
- Presentations (lectures)
- Information stands
- Lightning Talks
These options can of course also be combined, for example, talk and information booth.
Presentations
LinuxDay speaks of has always been to various interest groups, from beginners to professionals, as well as users, system administrators and programmers.
To address the interests, we are planning the following three blocks.
- Newcomers - for curious users
- Business - for decision makers from business and public administration
- Professional - for system administrators and programmers
Possible lecture topics are of course not just limited to Linux, but cover the whole field of Free Software and related fields.
After LinuxDay the documents to the lectures are (slides, texts ...) available online. Naturally, a free license (FDL, Creative Commons ...) preferred.
Presentations are held in 1hour rhythm, so 45 min with some spare minutes to discuss & switch room is preferred.
Information stands
It is possible to stand on its own level of information to the visitors of LinuxDay available for direct talks. For this information booths, we provide a table and chairs, electricity and other network connections. Other hardware (computers, monitors, ...) must be brought with the exhibitor if necessary.
Lightning Talks
Lightning Talks are approximately 10-minute short talks, several of which are lined up behind each other. Also happy to topics that are outside of the categories mentioned above for presentations.
Submission
Interested parties are invited submissions on papers [at] linuxday.at The following information should be the minimum:
- Name
- Contact (e-mail, phone, instant messaging, ...)
- Logo if desired
At presentation:
- Title of the paper
- Category (newcomers, business, professional)
- brief summary of the paper
- Short biography of the presenter
- Image of the presenter, if desired
At information stand:
- Description of the level of information shown on subject
When Lightning Talk:
- Title
